Description
HOW THE NEXT WORKSHOPS WORK:
In this beading workshop beaders are invited to delve into the world of beading onto found postcards and learning to work with a paper substrate for their beadwork. Beading into paper of any kind is a delicate matter. Paper unlike other beading substrates is unforgiving. If you create a hole with your needle – the paper doesn’t heal so that hole is there to stay. It takes precision, good tension and a little bit of planning to bead into paper – which we will demonstrate in this workshop. Throughout the lesson we discuss mixed media techniques to embellish found images as well as the basics such as plotting holes before stitching into our substrate. This class will approach beading intuitively – as a means of painting and enhancement to our surface. The end result will be an original work of art – a czech bead embroidered postcard.
