Norgard Designs is happy to open our Featured Artists area with the work by Deborah Cherry Mosch. These extraordinary non-objective one of a kind beaded works are offered for sale.
Deborah Cherry Mosch, an artist and educator for over thirty years, is a recently retired Professor Emerita at SCAD. Her artwork ranges from the figurative and illustrative to the abstract and non-objective; her techniques from traditional and digital drawing and painting methods to using needlepoint, beads or wire as a medium.
“I see abstracting form and space as a logical transition from my figurative and illustrative background, in which naturalism was very important to me. Color and design have the capability to bring joy into our lives, and they continue to occupy my compositions.”
Until the Spring of 2020 Deborah taught a variety of courses at The Savannah College of Art and Design, focusing on Color Theory. She is the author of the Color Theory textbook, COLOR, A Love Story. She wrote this for her students and for anyone who wants to become confident when using color.
She has been interviewed for ELLE Magazine as a color expert, has twice been named in Who’s Who in American Teachers and once in Who’s Who in American Artists. She has taught, and her work has been shown, nationally and internationally.
